ENGINEERING WITH PURPOSE
BEYOND THE RESUME
A curious mind,
built for impact.
Engineering isn't just about what we create, but also about the people we inspire along the way.
Supported power distribution engineering projects through design work, field data collection, reconductoring, pole replacements, framing updates, and design revisions.
This experience showed me how engineering decisions on paper translate into real-world infrastructure.
Provided technical support by troubleshooting user, hardware, software, connectivity, and account-access issues in a fast-paced help desk environment.
I learned that solving technical problems is just as much about understanding people as it is about understanding technology.
Supported students with technical coursework by explaining complex concepts, guiding problem-solving, and strengthening their understanding of math, physics, and engineering topics.
Tutoring taught me that sharing knowledge can be just as rewarding as learning something new.
Built to be explored.
Interactive experiments where systems thinking meets visual, human-centered design.
Hand Gesture Detection
An interactive hand-tracking application that recognizes gestures in real time, counts fingers, identifies peace signs and thumbs up, and lets users draw with hand movement.
JavaScript and MediaPipe track hand landmarks and translate finger positions into gestures and drawing controls.
Connecting camera input to real-time computer vision taught me to troubleshoot responsive, interactive features.
Autonomous Lunar Rover Simulator
A 2D lunar rover simulator where users can navigate manually or autonomously, avoid obstacles, and collect simulated lunar material.
Python, Pygame, and A* pathfinding help the rover calculate efficient routes around obstacles.
Making the rover navigate obstacles made autonomous navigation algorithms visible, testable, and intuitive.
Engineering Unit Converter
A web-based engineering unit converter that helps students quickly convert measurements without performing every calculation manually.
HTML, CSS, and JavaScript create an interactive interface that performs conversions and displays results instantly.
Building a practical student tool reinforced how much simple, intuitive design matters for everyday problem solving.

Society of Women Engineers
SecretaryEmpowering women in engineering through professional growth, community, and STEM outreach.
My Role
I support student engagement, organization, and communication, and help create an encouraging space for women in engineering. SWE has helped me build leadership skills and connect with other students.
Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers
Empowering Hispanic students and engineers through networking, mentorship, and career development.
Professional Growth
SHPE has connected me with engineering students and professionals and helped me explore career paths. I've joined professional development experiences, including the SHPE National Convention, and I will be attending SHPE 2026 in Indianapolis.
DustyTRON
Vice President OngoingLeading a multidisciplinary team building an autonomous lunar construction rover for NASA's Lunabotics Challenge.
The Challenge
We're working toward NASA's 2026–2027 Lunabotics Challenge, where university teams design and build prototype robots for simulated lunar construction tasks.
My Role
I coordinate our mechanical, electrical, and software subteams, organize project timelines, and track progress. I also contribute to designing, building, and testing our rover.

Supporting a student community focused on engineering, computing, and collaboration.
Outreach & Workshops
I take part in outreach that introduces incoming students to engineering and computing, and I support workshops that encourage hands-on learning and collaboration.
When do you graduate?
I'm studying Systems Engineering at Texas A&M International University and graduate in May 2027.
What are you working on right now?
My main focus is building, coding, and designing our NASA Lunabotics rover with my DustyTRON team, as we work toward the 2026-2027 challenge. I'm also taking part in an Agentic AI challenge with FinTECH, which is still in progress.
Let's build something.
Have an opportunity, question, or idea? I'd love to hear from you.
